The Col. Richard Sommers Chapter and friends gathered at the Privateerrs' memorial on Saturday, October 10th, 2010 to commemorate the 232nd anniversry of the Battle of Chestnut Neck.  In attendance were Freeholders Jim Curcio and Richard Dase, Port Republic Mayor, Gary Giberson, Port Republic Historian, Doris Bugden and Former Freeholder, John Risley. Also in attendace was DAR Regent Suzanne Smith.  Welcome  was given by Chapter President Norman Goos and the invocation by Donald Higbee.
