On Thursday, June 9, 2011 our Chapter hosted the 6th and final offering in our Raymond N. Beebe Law Firm Historical Lectures. Our speaker was Dr. Robert Jones – Professor of History Emeritus Fordham University

s' presentation was a condensation of his biography of George Washington: "George Washington: Ordinary Man, Extraordinary Leader", concentrating on the growth and maturation of Geo. Washington.
Vitae: native of Philadelphia, graduate of LaSalle University, BA, 1956, University of Notre Dame, MA, 1958, PhD, 1967, Publications include The King of the Alley: William Duer, Politician, Entrepreneur, and Speculator, 1768-1799 (American Philosophical Society, 1992); George Washington: Ordinary Man, Extraordinary Leader (Rev. Ed., Fordham University Press, 2002). Editor of two volumes of documents having to do with John Jacob Astor's American Fur Company Press: Astorian Adventure: The Journal of Alfred Seton, 1811-1815 (!993), and Annals of Astoria: The Headquarters Log of the Pacific Fur Company Post on the Columbia Riverm 1811-1813 (1999), also published by Fordham University Press, plus journal articles.
